When the rival gang,s come face to face, the shot Begin's with a over the shoulder shot, then a shot reverse shot of both the leaders, is used to show theirs a stand off. A variety of shot's of long shots, and close ups have been used, when the clown swings for the mob leader. The next scene is another gang member fighting, showing that the fight is getting more serious. Theirs is a long slowed down shot, with a man hitting the wall almost hitting one of the clown's, this shows that the fight is beginning to get serious. A cut back is used with a panning shot, following the leader running away with the case, the focus point of the fight. Again Hand held camera shot's are used, the scene appear's to be set in the 1970's such as the Car and the style the mob are dressed in. The fight reminds me of the film Green Street, a football firm fight.
Theirs another cut back, of the main clown and gang leader, the shot's keep flickering between the to leaders, both a low angle shot is used and the over the shoulder shot, to show venerability, then a first person shot is used to show that he's got it, and the focus point. Subtitles are used when the clown speaks "how could it comes to this" followed by a flash back, of both the main character's as children, a behind shot, medium shot is used to show the scenery. They seem to be friends, at this point, how thing use to be, a close up clown child miming "where did you go", which goes with the lyrics. The next shot's show the gradual divide of the too characters, of them riding the bike's, it cuts to other children, other gang member's showing the feud. A cut back to the main fight, with the use of close-ups in the building, a panning shot is used when the gang leader is getting away, he continues and the camera follows, as if hes the focus point, hand held camera shot's are used. A variety of shot's are used at this point of over the shoulder shot, to close-ups and long shots. When he See's the clown a close up shot is used to show his emotions. A panning shot follows the car, showing action. The violence of the music video, is evident in the lyrics, "bloody Mary" and "likes her gentlemen not to be gentle", this shows why the use of a whole male cast. A hand held shot is used when the clown Lock's down. A low-angle shot is used when the clown drops the lighter, as it hits the ground, the camera then follows the flame, slow motion is used when the car explodes, the close up shot is used and Pan's around the clown and then a flash back occurs again. After the flash back, the video shows the two boy's dancing, after another flashback is used of the panning around the clown, as if he is remembering the memory's, as he is the focus point, the pan reaches to an over the shoulder shot, of him facing the car.
After Analysing this particular Arctic monkeys music video, it,s very similar to the concept of my music video, and what I want to achieve, with the use of a story rather than the band playing or instrument's used, as this is the focal point in this music video which I want I'm my music video.
